BEACH AND TIDELANDS Binoculars are at hand to watch the amazing variety of bird life, sea life, and marine traffic. Sea otters, harbor seals, osprey, eagles, ducks, geese, deer, foxes, coyotes, raccoons and the occasional killer whale are all visitors to the bay. If you are feeling adventurous, just cross the small road and access the waterfront via a wooden boardwalk for hours of FUN! At low tide the beach transforms into a vast tidal flat, opening up a magical nether land. We've left a tide book so you can explore the shoreline for an all-nature experience. We suggest you carry your shoes and enjoy the warm, soft loamy sand under foot! For those guests who like to explore the island further, we've let info on where to rent kayaks, paddle boats, fishing gear, bicycles, etc. Fishing and shellfish harvesting can be scheduled in season with a license. Maps and guides are also provided for off-island site-seeing.
